Terms of service

These terms apply when you use the ChamparanCabs app or website, or book a ride by calling us. By booking, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. The service

ChamparanCabs, run by ChamparanCabs, arranges rides in e-rickshaws, autos and cars with local drivers in West Champaran, Bihar, and outstation trips from there to other towns and cities. Drivers are independent; we check them before they drive bookings for us, assign them to your ride and support you during the trip.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account.
  • Give your real name and a mobile number where the driver can reach you. Rides booked with a wrong number may be cancelled.
  • You are responsible for bookings made from your account. Keep your phone and Google account secure.
  • We may suspend accounts that are used for fake bookings, abuse or fraud.

3. Booking

  • Rides are booked at least 30 minutes ahead and up to 7 days ahead. We do not offer instant pickup.
  • A booking is a request. It is confirmed when our team assigns a driver and shares their details with you. If we cannot find a driver we will call you, and you owe nothing.
  • Each booking gets a 6-digit booking ID. Keep it handy when you call us.
  • You can also book by calling us. The same terms apply.

4. Fares and payment

  • The fare is shown before you book and is fixed for the trip you booked: the pickup and drop points, vehicle, date and time, and for round trips the driver’s waiting time.
  • A night charge applies when any part of the trip falls in the night window shown in the app.
  • You pay the driver in cash at the end of the trip. We do not take card or online payments, so we never ask for card or bank details.
  • Unless the fare breakdown says otherwise, tolls, parking and state entry fees are not included and are paid as they arise.
  • The fare may change if you change the trip on the way: a new stop or drop point, a longer route at your request, or waiting longer than you booked. The driver or our team will tell you the new amount before you agree to it.

5. Cancellations and refunds

  • To cancel, call us with your booking ID as early as possible. There is currently no cancellation fee. If we start charging one, the app will show it before you book.
  • We may cancel a booking if no driver is available, for safety or weather reasons, or if we cannot reach you. We will call you.
  • If a driver does not arrive, or you are charged more than the agreed fare, tell us within 7 days. Because you pay in cash, we settle disputes directly with you and the driver.

6. Your responsibilities as a rider

  • Be at the pickup point on time and keep your phone on, so the driver can reach you.
  • Do not carry anything illegal or dangerous, and do not travel with more passengers than the vehicle’s seats.
  • Treat drivers with respect. You pay for any damage you cause to the vehicle.
  • Take your belongings with you. We will help you contact the driver about lost items, but we cannot promise to find them.

7. Safety

If you feel unsafe during a ride, ask the driver to stop in a safe public place and call us. In an emergency, dial 112 first.

8. Our responsibility

We work hard to arrange reliable rides, but travel times depend on roads, traffic and weather, and we cannot guarantee an exact arrival time. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses such as a missed train or flight. Leave enough time for your journey. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

9. Using the app and website

Do not misuse the service: no fake bookings, no attempts to break into our systems, and no copying our app, website or brand. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors; satellite images © Esri and its data providers.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version in force when you book applies to that booking.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first; most problems are solved with one call. Any dispute that cannot be settled goes to the courts of West Champaran (Bettiah), Bihar.
